Africa cyberfest CTF competition
Registration for the CTF Competition is now open! To ensure smooth participation in the competition, please review and adhere to the following registration criteria.
Registration for the competition will be open from April 18th – April 25th, 2024.
Eligibility Criteria:
In order to participate in the competition, participants must meet the following criteria:
- Each team must register a minimum of 3 players and a maximum of 5 players.
- Each player must be a registered attendee of the conference.
- Teams must provide accurate personal information, including name, email address, and any other required details of team members.
- Teams must complete the online registration form available on the AfricaCyberFest website.
- Players must be at least 16 years old.
- Each team must have at least 3 players physically present at the conference in Lagos on May 17th 2024.
- Only registered teams will be invited to play on the CTF platform.
RULES AND REGULATIONS:
By participating in the CTF competition, the following rules and regulations set forth by the organizers must be adhered to. Any violation of these rules and regulations may result in immediate disqualification from the competition, at the discretion of the organizers. The decision of the organizers is final and binding.
- Participants must not attempt to gain unauthorized access to the CTF platform or any other part of the competition infrastructure, including but not limited to brute forcing and direct attacks on the servers, network, or databases and any other means of unauthorized access.
- Participants must not attempt to exploit any vulnerabilities on the CTF platform. This includes but is not limited to SQL injection, cross-site scripting (XSS), and buffer overflow attacks.
- Participants must not engage in any behavior that may disrupt the CTF platform or any other part of the competition infrastructure. Like attempting to launch a Denial of Service (DoS) attack against the CTF platform.
- Participants must report any suspected security issues or anomalies to the competition organizers immediately.
- Participants are not allowed to share flags or answers with other participating teams or individuals during the competition.Â
- Participants are expected to uphold the principles of fair play, integrity, and sportsmanship throughout the competition. Disruptive behavior, including but not limited to harassment, verbal abuse, or cheating, will not be tolerated.
- Participants must not attempt to modify the CTF platform or any of the challenges in any way. Any modification of the CTF platform or challenges is strictly prohibited.
- All team members must provide accurate personal information during registration.
- The competition organizers reserve the right to make changes to the CTF platform or any other part of the competition infrastructure at any time.
- The competition organizers reserve the right to disqualify any team or individual for any reason, including but not limited to violations of the rules and regulations regarding the CTF competition.
Important Notes:
- Pre-qualifiers round: May 2nd - May 5th, 2024. Final: May 17th, 2024.
- Only the Top 5 teams from the pre-qualifiers will advance to the finals.
- Changes to team composition or other registration details may be allowed within a specified period before the competition begins. Please stay updated on the AfricaCyberFest website for any announcements regarding registration changes.

Yes, the pre-qualifier round will be played virtually. However, the final round of the competition will be held physically, and at least 3 players from each team must be present at the conference venue in Lagos.
